Civil Process Servers


***** PROCESS SERVER NOTICE *****

2024 - 2025

New applicants and current Certified Process Servers who wish to renew their certification for 2024-2025 shall submit all required documentation and fees to the Leon County Courthouse, Office of Court Administration, Room 225, on or before Thursday, February 29, 2024.

At this time, the written exam will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Charles A. Francis Courthouse Annex located at 1920 Thomasville Rd. Tallahassee, FL 32303.

Admin Order 2015-06 in re: Certification and Regulation of Civil Process Servers outlines the policies and procedures for the certification and regulation of civil process servers in the Second Judicial Circuit.

Following are the requirements for placement on the approved list of Certified Civil Process Servers for the Second Judicial Circuit:

  1. A completed application.
  2. A surety bond of $5,000. (Minimum)
  3. Sheriff's advisory letters from each of the six (6) county Sheriffs (included in the application).
  4. Submit to a background investigation, at the applicant's expense, which shall include any criminal record of the applicant as evidenced by a certified copy of such fingerprint based criminal record from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement - State of Florida background search.
  5. Carefully review the above Admin Order 2015-06 which will inform you of the fees associated with the program and also the information as it relates to the seminar and exam.
