The Leon County’s Office of Sustainability operates under the Leon County Board of County Commissioners. Established on February 1, 2009, the Office of Sustainability’s mission is to initiate and maintain a commitment to sustainable practices within Leon County operations and our community. Community education and outreach are key to the County’s program. The Summit is evidence to our commitment to creating a better tomorrow through learning.
Pursuing a sustainable future takes a team approach. Various Departments and Divisions within the County contribute to our goals. A Sustainable Operations Team was created to help guide the development and implementation of sustainable efforts within County operations.
