The Summit will take place at the newly constructed FSU Turnbull Conference Center, a state of the art facility built to LEED Silver standards
The new Augustus B. Turnbull III Florida State Conference Center provides the University a facility to host academic conferences as well as government, non-profit, business and community events. The 47,000 square foot facility includes a 400-seat auditorium, catering kitchen, dining room and nine breakout rooms with 30 to 100 seats per room. Additionally, the center provides the latest in technology infrastructure to support on-site and off-site participation. The facility includes breakout rooms that are linked for multicasting speaker presentations using three video walls and eleven LCD screens. For off-site participants, presentations can be viewed in real-time by way of webcasts or by accessing web archives.
"The Turnbull Conference Center is now prepared to deliver the next generation of customized event solutions to Florida's capital city," said Bill Lindner, director of Florida State's Academic and Professional Program Services (APPS), which oversees the center and its professional conference planning and services. "By integrating the latest technology, the center's meeting professionals can design events with maximum impact whether they are small meetings or large regional conferences."
Construction of the new facility began in June 2008 to replace an aging structure of the same name that was demolished. An attached five-story parking garage is also a welcomed feature.
*Parking will be provided to summit attendees free of charge within the Conference Center parking garage.*
