The Rhonda
Renee Recycles Show
is an interactive, music and game show
for elementary schools in Leon County.
The
Rhonda Renee Recycles
Show is a 30-45 minute (assembly-style)
presentation
to "talk trash" with the students of Leon County. Students will learn
where our garbage goes, how we can make less garbage, and what can be
recycled. Presentations are free for schools in Leon County. Call Leon
County's Education Coordinator to schedule Rhonda Renee Recycles at your school.
606-1827 or gentryc@LeonCountyFL.gov.
Do you want to learn more about
Solid Waste, Waste Reduction and Recycling?
Invite our Community Education Coordinator to your classroom or
community group to "talk trash". Students will learn about waste
stewardship by reducing the amount of garbage we make.
Leon County operates the Solid Waste Management Facility and the Transfer Station
to handle solid waste. Both facilities play a vital role in the Leon
County Integrated Solid
Waste Management System. The Recycling Program provides FREE
public education programs on solid waste management and the role that YOU, our residents, play.
Solid waste management is an issue that affects
everybody. Leon County produces 800-1,000 tons of garbage daily. More
than half of that garbage can be reused or recycled.
Some easily recyclable items can sit in a landfill for up to
1,000 years. By making sure we maximize recycling, we help reduce the need
for more landfills. Recyclable products such as paper, glass,
aluminum, and steel can be made into new products that you buy every day.

a FREE presentation at your school or community group or to
