LAKE MUNSON
SHORELINE CLEANUP
The Lake Munson Shoreline Cleanup
was a huge success! Over 200 volunteers and county employees participated
in this event. Many agencies and groups also helped make this cleanup
possible, including: U. S. Forestry Service, Lake Munson Area Preservation,
Keep Tallahassee - Leon County Beautiful, Northwest Florida Water Management
District, City of Tallahassee, and Leon County Engineering, Mosquito Control
and Stormwater Maintenance, Operations, Parks and Recreation and Solid
Waste Divisions. Participants found many interesting items like a babywalker,
gas tanks, a toothbrush, and a wig. Overall, 24 tons of trash was removed
from the lake bottom. We would like to thank everyone who participated.
