Service Description
Provides childhood and adult immunizations to residents of Leon County. This
program also provides foreign travel immunizations for a fee. The adult immunization
program includes flu and pneumonia vaccines for at-risk residents. Case management,
consisting of home visits, phone calls and mailing of reminder notices to parents and/or
guardians, is provided for children 0-2 years old. Immunization staff also serves on
community committees. Immunizations are given in clinical sites at the main
unit, on the Mobile Health Unit, and at satellite units within the community.
Immunization Statistics, Leon County (2003 - 2004)
- 97.8% of all Kindergartners entering public or private schools in Leon County were fully
immunized.
- 83.7% of all seventh (7th) grade students entering public or private schools in Leon
County were fully immunized.
