INFORMATION FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE FROM
NON-RESIDENT ORGANIZATIONS
All non-resident entities
(businesses, government agencies, churches and non-profit organizations)
must call or e-mail for an appointment before disposing of hazardous
waste and disposal fees will apply. For some situations, we may not be
able to accept materials for disposal, either because of capacity limits
or processing/storage conditions. In these situations, we will make
every effort to help find a viable alternative disposal method. For
more information, please click here.
Items We Cannot Accept
We are unable to accept medical,
pharmaceutical or radioactive wastes. Medical "sharps" (needles, lancets)
must not be placed in household garbage containers for curbside pickup.
Approved containers are available at the
Leon County
Health Department for Leon County residents. For more
information on proper sharps disposal, please click
here. Unwanted Medicines (prescription
or over-the-counter) must NOT be flushed down the toilet. Please
follow the Florida DEP
guidelines for unused/expired medicine disposal.
