Sustainable Purchasing
Future Initiatives
The Office of Sustainability is working on updating our service contracts to include environmentally safe methods where possible. Examples include custodial services for over 500,000 square feet and grounds keeping of 17 sites. Our goal is to apply sustainable attributes to all contracts where feasible.
- Green cleaning – Leon County is working on conducting a pilot program using ‘green’ cleaning products and methods. We will be working closely with the FL Department of Environmental Protection as a partner to make adjustments to upcoming custodial contracts in order to implement green cleaning practices through County facilities.
