Leon County Government adds two concerts to the 2016 Spring on Stage Concert Series line-up: R&B singer-songwriter Tank on Friday, April 29 and classic rocker Peter Frampton on Saturday, May 28.
Tank’s performance, which occurs on the weekend of Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) spring graduation, will take place on Friday, April 29 at the Capital City Amphitheater in Cascades Park. Special guests include comedian “Tight Mike”, DJ Bo Weezy and FAMU’s own saxophonist, BK Johnson.
Tank’s third solo album – Sex, Love & Pain – was released in 2007 and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and earned a Grammy-award nomination for “Best R&B Album”. His songwriting and production credits include working with artists such as Jamie Foxx, Pitbull, Aaliyah, Trevor Jackson, Adrian Marcel and Beyoncé.
Peter Frampton, whose music career spans nearly 50 years, remains one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. Frampton will perform at the Capital City Amphitheater in Cascades Park on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 28. He has collaborated with legendary artists George Harrison, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ringo Starr. In 2014 he was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame.
His fifth solo album – Frampton Comes Alive! – celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and remains one of the top-selling live records of all time. Frampton’s latest album – Acoustic Classics – features re-worked versions of his classic hits including “Baby I Love Your Way,” “Do You Feel Like I Do,” “Show Me The Way,” and others.
