Preliminary Slams were held at four locations on Wednesday, April 16. Each teen read original poetry that amazed and entertained their audiences! The following participants were selected as finalists:

Almost 60 people attended the Final Slam on Thursday evening, including our 11 finalists. William Holden was the MC again this year, he kept the tempo up and the energy flowing. Once more we were totally in awe of the poetry these kids can create, it was really fun.  Thank you to all who helped organize and promote this wonderful event including, Kelly Lenz, our FSU intern; Deirdre Tolia, Lake Jackson; Sue Barnett-Quick, Northeast Branch; Carolyn Good, and John Davis, from the Perry Branch.
