Service Description

Provides health-screening services for the early identification of health problems that might inhibit learning.  Services include health screenings for vision, hearing, scoliosis, and communicable diseases (if indicated).  Case management involves individual assessment of students, health education services, referrals, follow-up, assisting schools in complying with the compulsory immunization law, and serving as health consultants.  Case management also includes supervision of the fluoride mouth rinse program ( for those schools not provided fluorinated water and other preventative dental services.  These services are provided through the Basic School and the Full Service School programs.
