Leon
County EMS has established a countywide public access AED program.
Automated External Defibrillators (AED) have already been installed at eight
County locations. EMS also maintains a registry of all the AED's in Leon
County in order to have that information available if 911 is called from one of
these locations. Additionally, LCEMS is part of the Leon
County/Tallahassee Heart Ready Coalition, a community partnership between public
and private organizations that facilitates CPR training and AED availability.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Chain of Survival:

If used in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest, AED's have proven to
significantly increase survival rates.
