Start of Orange Avenue Expansion Project with Groundbreaking

Leon County Commissioners broke ground on the Orange Avenue expansion project on Saturday, April 9 following a community breakfast for area residents, sponsored by the Sandco construction team. More than 50 residents came out on this Saturday morning for complimentary eggs, grits, and
sausage.
Chairman Cliff Thaell, joined by Commissioners Jane Sauls, Bill Proctor, Bob Rackleff, County Administrator Parwez Alam, and Apalachee Ridge Neighborhood Association President Perry West, donned red construction hats and broke ground on this important road project for Leon County's
southside.
Residents expressed excitement about what Orange Avenue will look like when the project is complete. They said they're especially looking forward to the ditch that runs beside beside Orange Avenue being enclosed.
