PRESIDENT'S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD
for Community Service After Hurricane Katrina
Bob
received the President's Call to Service Award in June,
2006 in recognition of his commitment to civic
participation in the New Orleans cleanup and restoration
effort. Each year the President's Council on Service and
Civic Participation and USA Freedom Corp consider
nominees who have contributed at least 4,000 volunteer
hours over the course of their lives, at home or abroad,
in service of humanity.
Bob has shown leadership through his personal
Volunteerism, by inspiring other Commissioners and
community members to get involved in helping restore a
neighboring Gulf Coast area devastated by natural
disaster, and by participating in Restoration 2006 and
other programs that help local leaders prepare for
future events in our community.

Jeri Bush, Director of VolunteerLeon, presented Bob with the Award and a framed letter from the President of the United States at the Board of County Commissioner's regular meeting on July 11, 2006.
