WHEREAS, Emergency Medical Technicians provide services
based on human need, with respect for human dignity,
unrestricted by consideration of nationality, race, creed,
color, or status, and
WHEREAS, Each year the State Bureau of Emergency Medical
Services recognizes Florida’s top professionals in the EMS
field, and
WHEREAS, the EMS Educator of the Year award honors an EMS
instructor or course coordinator who has made a positive
contribution to EMS education in Florida, and
WHEREAS, Leon County’s own Major Malcolm "Mac" Kemp has
been named Florida’s EMS Educator of the Year for 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS of LEON COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Tuesday,
September 13, 2005 is hereby designated as
MAJOR MALCOLM "MAC" KEMP DAY
in Leon County, Florida. We express our
gratitude to Major Kemp for his ability to save lives
vicariously, by sharing the techniques which can preserve
human life in the most difficult of circumstances. We
therefore commend Major Kemp for his dedication to service
and his commitment to excellence as an EMS Educator, and for
all his accomplishments in the Emergency Medical Services
field.
