WHEREAS, Howard Durham began his career with Leon County
on June 30, 1986, as an Equipment Mechanic II in the Public
Works Division of Fleet Management; and
WHEREAS, Howard Durham was transferred to a Landfill
Attendant position with the Solid Waste Division, advancing
to his current position as a Weighmaster; and
WHEREAS, Howard’s work has been exemplary, and his
commitment to service above and beyond the call of duty, as
evidenced during the multiple hurricane crisis of 2004 when
he volunteered to work overtime until the emergency
conditions had passed; and
WHEREAS, Howard’s optimism and smiling face are
contagious, and have become an integral part of the life of
the Public Works Department and Solid Waste Division; and
WHEREAS, Howard Durham has announced his retirement from
Leon County, effective May 31, 2005.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF LEON COUNTY, FLORIDA that
HOWARD DURHAM
be honored for his 19 years of dedicated
service to the people of Leon County. We recognize him as an
outstanding member of our community, and do express our
thanks for his many contributions to our community. We
extend our sincerest best wishes to him for an enjoyable,
fulfilling, and well-deserved retirement.
