WHEREAS, Leon County’s interoffice mail system is the
engine of productivity for all governmental functions,
providing for fast and efficient transfer of documents and
information throughout local government; and
WHEREAS, the sensitive nature of the documents which move
through Leon County’s interoffice mail system, including
court documents, State Attorney and Public Defender
correspondence, documents and records from the and to the
Sheriff’s Office, the Property Appraiser’s Office, the
Supervisor of Elections Office, the Tax Collector’s Office,
the County Commission, and all administrative and
departmental correspondence to and from citizens; and
WHEREAS, Kent Gillaim, an employee of the Leon County,
Florida, maintains a high level of efficient service,
through a meticulous organizational system and a boundless
reservoir of cheerful goodwill to the entire Leon County
government; and
WHEREAS, we have all come to depend on Kent, not just for
efficient delivery of the mail, but for a good joke, a kind
word, and his selfless commitment to service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEON COUNTY BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that the July 13, 2004 be hereby
declared
LINDA BRASWELL DAY
in Leon County, Florida. We commend Linda for keeping the
mail moving, keeping the government connected and making all
of us appreciate the power of a positive outlook. We look to
his example of good-natured camaraderie and service, and do
all aspire to his high work ethic and positive disposition.
