WHEREAS, Mr. James E. McRoy, Sr. has announced his resignation from the Leon County Code Enforcement Board effective August 31, 2004; and

WHEREAS, James McRoy has served as a Board Member of the Leon County Code Enforcement Board since September 8, 1992, and as Chairman during the 1995-96 and 2000-01 board terms; and

WHEREAS, James McRoy’s professionalism and expertise as a Civil Engineer and Certified General Contractor for 20 years and as a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, has inspired the confidence and respect of commissioners, citizens, and staff; and

WHEREAS, James McRoy’s dedication and sense of responsibility has been an asset to Leon County and its citizens during his tenure on the Leon County Code Enforcement Board; and

WHEREAS, James McRoy has demonstrated a high degree of expertise and integrity in all his actions to enforce the Leon County Code and Florida Law as a member of the Code Enforcement Board; and

WHEREAS, James McRoy has always acted with the utmost fairness, impartiality, and neutrality, while maintaining the high standards of democratic process in the execution of his duties.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEON COUNTY, FLORIDA, that

be recognized and commended for his dedicated service to the citizens of Leon County, and is bid a fond farewell as the Board expresses its best wishes for his future personal and career endeavors.
