WHEREAS, on Sunday, November 3, 2002,
the Alzheimer’s Project of Tallahassee and the Alzheimer
Resource Center will hold its Fifth Annual Crusade for
Caregivers: A Walk for Alzheimer’s; and,
WHEREAS, Participants will be able to
salute those caregivers who make it possible for Alzheimer’s
Patients and their families to live independent and
productive lives to the fullest extent possible; and,
WHEREAS, Volunteer Alzheimer’s
caregivers stay with relieve the families of Alzheimer’s
patients, providing them time to go shopping, go for a walk,
or just spend some time for themselves; and,
WHEREAS, Every Alzheimer’s caregiver
deserves to be recognized for his or her service to someone
else who can no longer get by on their own; and
WHEREAS, The Fifth Annual Crusade for
Caregivers: A Walk for Alzheimer’s will celebrate the
services caregivers provide with the Dedication of the Tree
of Memories, Entertainment, Lunch, and the Comfort Pet
Therapy Animals leading the walk around Lake Ella.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEON COUNTY, FLORIDA,
November 3, 2002 is hearby declared
ALZHEIMER’S CAREGIVERS
DAY
in Leon County,
Florida. Let it be known that the People of Leon County
appreciate their efforts and recognize their contributions
to our community. These selfless who give so much of
themselves caregivers bring freedom and hope to Alzheimer’s
patients and their families throughout Leon County, and help
to preserve the health and dignity of our honored elders to
whom sweet memory is fleeting. Thank you, on behalf of a
grateful community, and God bless you all.
